For a while now I have wanted to start a monthly feature on the blog but have either not got round to it or haven’t been able to decide what to do for it. I wanted something that would sort of tie everything together which a mixture of food and everything else because this blog lacks direction and any kind of organisation. Not that it needs to, but it’s nice to have a monthly little thing isn’t it?
Lately I have been wanting to do a “favourite things” post too, mainly because I really like reading what stuff other people like and getting recommendations of things to try, but also because I keep seeing things and thinking “if I was doing a favourite things post, I’d put this in!” Obviously when I started this I completely forgot about any of those things so I had to think of some. I want these posts to be a mixture of things I’ve loved forever or things I’ve just discovered, but always things that I’m loving that month for a particular reason. So here goes:
Even though I didn’t really have resolutions this year, this was one of the things I was thinking most about as the new year crept around, because it’s the one thing that I always want to do more of. I’m trying to make it a daily thing because I cannot stress to you enough how good it is for you. Even if it’s just ten minutes a day on the mat, it can make so much difference to your mental and physical wellbeing. I like to do a bit when I’m stressed, when I’ve had a bad night’s sleep or after the gym. So it’s one of my favourite things ever.
This face scrub
Yo tbh I don’t know where this face scrub even came from. I found it on the shelf in the bathroom after a week of my face feeling REVOLTING. I was dubious because I have really sensitive skin and loads of allergies etc and scrubs usually end up just rubbing my skin raw. By the name I reckon this is some kind of anti-ageing thing, and I suppose you’re never too young to start with that. Anyway it has been a miracle on my skin. It feels so soft and clean, not clogged at all like before and it has sort of evened my skin out a bit so my dry parts are less dry and oily parts a bit more matte. Ah combination skin, how I loathe you.
This night cream
Leading on from my foray into anti ageing face scrub, I have to say that night cream is the most immense thing in the world. (Exaggeration.) Ever since I was a wee baby I have always used Simple face wash and light moisturiser daily, but I bought the night cream version and it’s so good! It’s so soothing and calming on the skin and it leaves my face still feeling soft when I wake up, whereas the standard moisturiser never did. Even if you don’t get this particular one, go and get some night cream! Yay!
I used to always buy this juice at uni because it was my favourite and also as a student with no concept of real life I used to love pissing money up the wall on pointless shit! Then when I did one of my ludicrous Tesco online food shops the other day (no meals, just £50 worth of fancy health food snacks) I saw that it was on offer so I got some, and then I forgot that I got some and when it arrived I shouted “TROPICANA” in the kitchen like a lunatic. Seriously though, best juice. My best juice friend. Also it’s 1 syn for 100ml or 34 cals for 150ml. If you care.
I fucking lovveeeeee themmmmmm. (This picture proves how fast Harry is. He’s a constant blur. You can’t fight evolution, he was built for speed.)
